SWOG Clinical Trials Partnerships (SWOG CTP) has taken major steps in establishing dedicated infrastructure for conducting non-federal trials with partners in industry by adopting a comprehensive e-research platform featuring new electronic data capture, integrated clinical trial management, and electronic trial master file systems.

The e-research platform relies on Medidata RAVE for electronic data capture, paralleling SWOG’s use of the RAVE system for data capture in its NCI-supported trials. To this SWOG CTP adds an integrated clinical trial management system from Velos and an electronic trial master file using Florence’s eBinders platform (here is Florence’s press release on its agreement with SWOG CTP).

SWOG CTP will use these systems to streamline communications with SWOG sites, house study documents, and assist in managing investigator site files, regulatory requirements, and site monitoring and auditing.

SWOG CTP and pharmaceutical partners are also moving forward rapidly with designs for the first trials to be conducted as part of its Preferred Partnership Program.
